James E. Eckles, Sr .93, was born December 3, 1926 in Meridian, Mississippi, to Robert And Miriam Smith Eckles. Mr. Eckles was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and had worked in Advertising for the Houston Chronicle, Pasadena Citzen, Brazosport Facts and the Grapevine Herald. He enjoyed Camping, Hunting, and Fishing, and loved to play dominos (42). He even lied about his date of birth so he could join the Merchant Marines. (Ricky) Eckles, Jessica Cotton, Jennifer Thompson & husband Trey, Rondi Parker & husband James, Aprille Michelle Eckles, James Earl Eckles, Elizabeth Eckles & husband Roy, Dawn Dickinson & husband Carlton, Belinda Estes, Alexis (Katie) Estes. 10 Great Grandchildren, Jacob, Amelia, Cole, Fisher & Eli, Alexis Cheynne, Dylan & wife Jessica, Jessica, Theodore, Isaac, Damian, Zachary, R. J. (Ricky Jr.), C. J., Morgan, David, Nathaniel, Austin, Oppie, Justin, Montana, Dace, Elijah, David, Karleigh, Daphne, Patricia (Honey), Tyler, and Blake. Great Great Grandson, Carson.
