Preceded in death by his parents, Myrtle & Fred Trainer Sr., his brother Fred Trainer Jr., wife Sherry Dale Trainer, and step daughter Chante’ Moore.
Survived by: Daughter Sherry Tavel & husband Bob, son DC Trainer Jr., daughter Linda Leach & husband Travis, and son Fred Trainer III, along with 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Born in Baton Rouge, LA to Myrtle & Fred Trainer Sr. the family moved to Pasadena in the early 1950’s, where he grew up working at the many family businesses; Corral Drive In, Trainer’s Drive In, Oasis Drive In and the Utility Equipment Company taking over operations in 1968 and ran it until 1999. While working at the Corral Drive In he met and fell in love with Shirley Carlson. They were married on April 7, 1956 and began their family and raised their children in Pasadena.
He was very involved in the Deer Park & Pasadena Rodeo and held many positions even became President in 1973 working and supporting the FFA and youth of Pasadena and surrounding areas. He loved going on the trail rides year after year for the Pasadena Rodeo and attending and supporting the Pasadena Cook-off and Strawberry Festival. A former director and vice chairman of the Pasadena Strawberry Festival, DC's influence reaches far outside the local community, as he has been involved with the American Heart Association and American Cancer Association. He was also very involved with Pony and Colt league baseball and was a past president. He was inducted into the Pasadena Hall of Fame in 1987 alongside the many honors he has accrued in his history with the city of Pasadena. DC was an active member of the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce for many years and was awarded Citizen of the Year in 2003. He loved giving back to the community in any way he could.
