Donald Wayne Scott, 86, of Groveton, passed away on August 9, 2020 in Tomball, Texas.

Donald was born on January 7, 1934 to Earl Wayne & Lillie Mae Scott. He graduated from Groveton High School. During school, he played football for Groveton High School. After practice and on the weekends, he drove a cattle truck to make extra money year-round. He had an opportunity to work on a tugboat as a mechanic in Port Arthur, Texas. From there he joined the Marine Reserves. He married his best friend, Betty Jean on November 7, 1952. On June 1, 1954, he received honorable discharge where he then drafted into the Army as a mechanic, went through Basic Training at Ft. Bliss. He then attended Mechanical training in Atlanta, GA, then went to Ft. Lewis for 2 weeks, then was deployed to Korea for 18 months. Donna Jean Scott was born on May of 1955. He then returned back home to Ft. Lewis on the USS Patrick on May of 1956 then back to Houston. Randy Earl Scott was born, September of 1958. Donald received Honorable Discharge from the Army on May 31, 1962. Donald then went to work for Oil Center Tool (OCT) as a machinist. When OCT was taken over by FMC Technologies, he was prompted to Shop-floor Superintendent. In 1991, Donald then retired from FMC Technologies and was later called back to run the shop for FMC, becoming an Inspector for DTI.

He is preceded in death by his Parents: Earl & Lilly Scott, Wife: Betty Scott. He leaves behind his Daughter: Donna Davis & Richard, Son: Randy Scott & Candi, Grandchildren: Rhiannon Davis & Holly, Ashley Glover & Matthew, Stephanie Roe & Robert, Great-grandchildren: EmaLeigh Roe, Peyton, Brody, Madilynn, Jayden, Chase, Mason, Brooklynn; brothers, Carl, Jim, Walter and John.

A visitation will be held 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Thursday, August 13, 2020 at Rosewood Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 14, 2020 at 10:00a at Rosewood Funeral Home in Humble, TX. Graveside services will follow at Rosewood Memorial Park.
