Catherine Cambras Puffer, passed away peacefully at the wonderful age of 95, at home in Humble, Texas, on Monday, July 20, 2020. She was the devoted wife of the late William M. Puffer and mother of Cynthia Mersereau.
She was born and raised in Bridgeport, CT, worked in her family’s Newfield Candy Shop, then following her marriage on July 23, 1949, Tina moved with her husband to Thomasville, GA, later to Puerto Rico, and eventually to Mary Esther, FL. For over 25 years Tina was a member of the Saints Markella & Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, where she was very involved in the church activities, was active in the Parish Council and loved singing in the choir. Eight years ago she moved, to reside with her daughter in Texas, and has enjoyed plays, movies, luncheons, sightseeing trips and playing Bunco.
She was preceded in death by her husband William M. Puffer, her parents William and Georgia Cambras, brothers Charles, Alexander and George Cambras, and sister Julie Cambras. She is survived by her daughter Cynthia Mersereau and husband George, grandson George M. Mersereau, her sister-in-law Esther Cambras, the families of her nephews William Cambras and wife Elizabeth, Charles Cambras and wife Beverly, her nieces Georgianne Meole and husband Alex, and Christine Grega and husband Mike.
A private funeral service* will be held at Saint Michael Cemetery, in Stratford, Ct. with the Rev. Peter Orfanakos, of St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church, prior to entombment beside her beloved husband William in Saint Michael Cemetery’s Garden Mausoleum.
The family wishes to thank Shawn Holmes of Rosewood Funeral Home in Humble for his help and David Dougiello of Commerce Hill Funeral Home in Bridgeport for his invaluable counsel and assistance in the arrangements of Catherine’s final journey.

*Cemetery Protocols due to COVID-19 restrictions:
Burial/Funeral services may take place with a maximum of 10 immediate family members only.
Mausoleum funeral service (entombment) will occur outside in front of the mausoleum. Casket will be buried, entombed, inurned without family present (funeral director only), no exception.
