Frances Marie Bush (Kirk)
Frances Marie Bush, 89, went to be with the Lord on July 20,2020 in her home in Houston, Texas. Frances was born September 22, 1930 in Milano, Texas to Wiley H. Kirk and Thelma Burtell Kirk, who preceded her in death. Frances was also preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Hulon L Bush, her sister, Addie Mae Loewe and her brothers, Wiley H. Kirk, Cecil Kirk, and Wendell Kirk.
Frances grew up in Rockdale, Texas where she was known for her hard work ethic and for helping and caring for her mother. She was baptized in the First Baptist Church of Rockdale, TX. After graduating from Rockdale High School, she moved to Houston where she began working for the telephone company and met her future husband, Hulon Bush. They were married on June 10, 1949 and had one daughter, Karen Elaine Bush. Frances went on to have a long career in banking, where she worked 30+ years at 1st City National Bank in downtown Houston. In 1984, she and Hulon retired and moved to live on Lake Livingston. They enjoyed their days on the lake, fishing and boating. They were members of Blanchard Baptist Church in Blanchard, Texas . In 2002, they moved back to the Houston area to be closer to their daughter.
Frances enjoyed spending time with shopping and traveling with her daughter, Karen. She loved watching sports and was an avid Astros fan. She also loved her scratch-off tickets and going to Coushatta Casinos with her best friend of 50 years, Margaret Foster. Family and friends were very important to her and she was always thinking of others.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen Bush of Houston; sisters, Patricia Kimmel of Johns Creek, and June Ivey of Euless, Texas along with numerous relatives and friends.
The family welcomes those who would like to pay tribute to Frances to please join them Monday, July 27, 2020, for a visitation beginning at noon and service to follow at 2pm at the Rosewood Funeral Home Chapel in Porter, Texas. Interment will follow at the Mausoleums of Rosewood Cemetery.
