Obituary for
Samuel Joseph Brown Jr.
Dr. Samuel J. Brown Jr., 79, passed away Friday, June 26, 2020 in Houston, Texas. Samuel was born on May 6, 1941 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Samuel J. Brown Sr. and Camille Trumbaturi Brown who both precede him in death.
Sam graduated from Jesuit High School in New Orleans. He also has a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from University of Southwestern Louisiana, Masters Degree in Engineering Science and Mechanics, University of Florida, PhD, Civil and Mechanical Engineering from University of Akron and a Masters Degree in Pastoral Studies from the University of St. Thomas.
Sam was a Forensic Scientist and Expert Witness in the fields of Mechanical, Civil and Structural Engineering. He was also a Consultant to the U.S. Department of Defense, Department of Navy, Department of Justice and NASA. He was and Author of textbooks in Forensics and Mathematics.
He also was a volunteer Chaplain, avid student of World History, Archeology, and Family Geology: He was and Artist, Guitar Picker, Golfer, and winner of multiple Racquetball Trophies.
Sam was a Fellow: American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Fellow: American Society of Civil Engineers, Member of Design team on the Trident Submarine, Member of Human Factors and Ergonomics Society, Member of Society of Automotive Engineers and Who’s Who in Engineering.
Sam married the love of life, his wife, Josephine Monistere Brown on February 10, 1962 and have been married for 58 years; siblings, Gregory Brown, Pamela Brown Hinton and Brian Brown; children, Troy Brown and wife Kathy, Tricia Brown Kenworthy and husband Tim, Kamryn Brown Johnson and husband Danny; grandchildren, Samantha Brown, Mason Brown, Savannah Brown Diaz, Joseph Kenworthy, Madeline Kenworthy, Heidi Johnson, Grant Johnson, Dan Jones, Robin Walters, Adam Jones and Kathryn Jones; great-grandchildren, Jacob Pope, Jayden Wilson, Liliana Kenworthy, Layla Kenworthy, Coraline Diaz and Camden Walters; numerous other family members and a host of loving friends.
God bless Sam’s children, who held his hand throughout his travel home: Troy, Tricia, Heidi, Kathy and daughter Kamryn Johnson, RN.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 29th, 2020 at Rosewood Funeral Home Atascocita, 17404 W. Lake with Father David Nelson officiating.
