Obituary for Jacqualine "Jackie" Katchmarik (McDuffie)

Jacqualine “Jackie” Katchmarik was born to Jack and Mary McDuffie on December 30, 1953 in Texarkana, Arkansas. Jackie departed this life on June 17, 2020. She is survived by her husband, Bruce Katchmarik; daughter, Erin Myers; grandsons Jakob and Lucas Myers; son-in-law, Eric Myers, all of Oden, Arkansas; her brother, Russell “Rusty” McDuffie of Texarkana, Texas; her step-children – Aaron and Audrey Katchmarik and family of Tyler, Texas; Dustie Katchmarik and family of Romeoville, Illinois; Ashlea Katchmarik-Allen of Tyler, Texas.

Jackie had a passion for helping others – on a professional level as a therapist for over 30 years and on a personal level with family, friends, and even total strangers. She was actively involved with various Vietnam Veteran support groups. Jackie was a passionate advocate against animal abuse, generously supported animal shelters with donations, and was “rescued” by 4 shelter puppies – Simon, Daisy, Louie, and Libby - over the years.

Funeral services are in care of Rosewood Funeral Home, 2602 S. Houston Ave., Humble, Texas. Visitation will be Monday, June 22, 2020 from 2 pm to 5 pm. A private memorial service for family will be on Tuesday, June 23, 2020. Interment will be in Rosewood Cemetery in Humble, Texas.

The family request that in lieu of usual remembrances donations may be made to the ASPCA.
