Obituary for
Terry Rene Rhodes (Ballard)
Terry Rene Ballard Rhodes was born on August 9th, 1956 in Houston Texas. Terry went home to her Lord and Savior on June 11th, 2020. Terry battled Glioblastoma brain cancer from August 2017, until the Lord called her home in June of 2020. Glioblastoma, or GBM is a very aggressive form of cancer, with the average survival ranging between 12-15 months. Because of the prayers of family and friends worldwide, and an excellent medical team, Terry tripled the normal post diagnosis life expectancy. Terry’s faith through her long fight was unwavering. She never doubted God had her healing in his control and was willing to go wherever that journey led her. She felt a calling on her life to pray for others, especially those fighting cancer.
Terry was shy by nature, and often found it hard to speak with strangers. Until she had experienced the healing hand of the Lord on her life. I often would be separated from her in the mall and see her praying with a total stranger.
Terry had a goal of reaching her 44th wedding anniversary, and she and Ron were blessed to have reached that milestone the week prior to her passing,
Terry was proceeded in death by her father, Jack Ballard Sr. She is survived by her husband Ronald Rhodes II, her daughter Lori Tullis and Lori’s husband Ray Tullis, Ronald Rhodes III, Travis Rhodes, and Travis’s wife Jaimee Rhodes, and Terry’s mother Wanda Ballard, and her sisters Sandy Anderson and her husband Arthur, and Jewell Ash and her husband Wayne. Terry is also survived by her brother, Jack Ballard Junior, and Jack’s wife Kimberly. Terry is also survived by three grandsons Jimmy, Blake and Jace Tullis. Terry is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Terry was very active in New Covenant Church of Humble. She attended church services 10 days after being discharged from the hospital after major brain surgery. Terry and Ron also led a local “Life Group” for their church from their home in New Caney.
The Rhodes family would like to thank the many church members and family who have supported the family for the last few weeks with food, and other physical needs. Most importantly, the family wants to thank the many friends and family members who have supported the family with their prayers.
