Frank Carrington
Carl ‘Frank’ Carrington died in his home on May 7, 2020 in Houston, TX due to complications following Mesothelioma. Frank was 82 years old.
Frank was born on December 3, 1937 in Fort Worth, TX to parents Henry Carl Carrington and Alice Holman Carrington. He graduated from C.E. King high school in 1956 and attended the University of Houston for a short time before starting a job in a refinery.
Frank and Helen met at a drive in, both were with friends at the time and agreed to a double date. They hit it off and the pair were married in February 1961. While living in Houston, Frank and Helen had 2 daughters, Denise and Donna. After building most of the house on his own, Frank, Helen and the girls moved in to the new home and, shortly after, welcomed Carl to the family in 1969. Frank worked in the engineering field for many, many years while providing for his family. His specialty was scheduling turn-arounds for Lyondell. He retired from Lyondell Petrochemical Company in 2001. Frank was also a long time member of the Boilermaker’s Union. He enjoyed old cars, gardening, and playing with his great-grandsons while caring for his wife, Helen. Frank and Helen were married for 59 years.
Frank is preceded in death by his daughter, Denise Carrington Martin of Humble, TX; son-in-law, Gregory Jay Martin of Kingwood, TX; his mother, Alice Holman Carrington and his father, Henry Carl Carrington, both of Houston, TX.
Frank is survived by his wife, Helen Thuem Carrington of Houston, TX; daughter Donna Lawson and her husband, Robert Lawson of Houston, TX; his son, Carl Wayne Carrington and wife, Melanie Carrington of Fulshear, TX; granddaughter Jennifer Maynard and her husband, Robert Maynard, of Houston, TX; and granddaughter Lauren Martin of Plano, TX; step-granddaugher Krystal Kirkwood and her husband, Christopher Kirkwood of Alvin, TX; and step-granddaugher Jennifer Campbell and her husband, Cordell Campbell of Santa Fe, TX. Frank has 2 great-grandsons, Preston Maynard and Devin Maynard.
Franks final resting place will be San Jacinto Memorial Park located at 14659 East Fwy, Houston, TX 77015. John Moore will officiate the ceremony.
