Stacy and family, I am so sorry for your loss. It has been such a pleasure and an honor to have known Rick as a friend and fellow planner for +/-30 years. We first met through TxAPA, and he worked on a couple of consulting projects in my early years at the City of Victoria in the mid-90's while he was at Wilbur Smith. We stayed in contact through the years through APA and later on Facebook. About 6 years ago I decided to buy a nice BBQ pit/smoker, so I called my BBQ guru, Rick. He not only recommended his pit builder in Houston, but he met me there and helped me pick one out. He also gave me containers of his "secret" rubs and took me to lunch that day. A couple of years ago, he hauled his BBQ trailer to Halletsville to cook for my wife's niece's wedding. He was going to come cook for my step-daughter's wedding in September. I was really looking forward to spending that time with him. Rick will be missed. He was a funny, kind, gentle and generous man.
