Obituary for
Raelyn Keith Renfro
Raelyn Keith Renfro went home to be with our Lord on March 2, 2020. He was born September 25, 1957 in Bryan, Texas. He is preceded in death by his father, Stanley Renfro, his mother, Wanda Renfro and his sister, Renee Davis and his loving grandparents. He is survived by his brother, Burk Compton Renfro, his wife, Ivy and his sister, Sharon Denise Warren and many loving nieces and nephews. He was dearly loved by Rita Renfro, his ex-wife and also by his long-time friend and companion, Chris Haugens and her son, Jeff.
Keith was a master carpenter. During his life he worked many decades for a major cooling tower company. He worked his way from novice carpenter to superintendent. He traveled extensively and built new towers and demolished old ones. Members of his work crews remember him as a man who worked hard. He was the first man on the tower and the last man down. They said they enjoyed working for him because he always shared his skills to make their jobs easier and that he never raised his voice. They said he was always a fair man.
Keith loved music! He loved music a lot and played it loudly! His old Kenwood stereo used to rock the house. Keith could not sing, but he sang along anyway. We’re sure he’s in heaven now trying to figure out how to crank up the volume.
He also loved outdoors. He grew gardens and loved to watch things grow and bloom. He loved animals. His mom said they always had animals when he was a kid. She said once “look what I started.” The yard was always full of chickens, pigs, goats and even a few cows. He would sit and watch his hen house for hours. He’d order chickens through the mail and couldn’t wait to go to the post office and bring home his little friends. He made us laugh when he called his baby chicks “eggs with legs.” Hoping there are lots of animals for him to hang around with in heaven.
Keith loved his Mama. They were close and adored each other. They spoke often and he lived with her for a while when he was showing signs of illness. Mama worried about him and would wring her hands, but she knew he was always in God’s care.
We’ll miss you, Keith. We’re praying you’ll have perfect peace now. We know you’re enjoying the beauty of heaven and that you are in God’s presence. Rest now. Your battle is over. God promised no more sorrow and no more sickness. Peace to you and everlasting joy! We will love you forever, big guy.
