Obituary for Hubert Eugene Winterrowd Jr.

Hubert Eugene “Gene” Winterrowd, Jr., 85, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2020 in Pasadena, Texas. He was born January 4, 1935 to Edmay Louise and Hubert Eugene, Winterrowd, Sr., in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Gene served in the United State Navy aboard the USS Vigor MSO-473 and was employed by the United Pipeline Gas Company for 41 years as Purchasing Agent. When not working he loved golf, golf and more golf. He also enjoyed bowling, cards, board games, and dominoes. He looked forward to his weekly Thursday morning breakfasts with close friends and spending time with family. In lieu of flowers, please contribute to the Ronald McDonald House, cancer research, and CHI St. Luke’s Patients Hospital.

Gene was honored with a Meritorious Service Award for saving two young teenagers from drowning by jumping into a cold swollen bayou in Louisiana after their automobile accident. He did this while driving on company business in 1969, with no concern for his own safety and while his wife was home 7 months pregnant with their third child.

He was predeceased by his parents Hubert Eugene Winterrowd, Sr. and Edmay Louise Winterrowd and by his great-granddaughter Kealeigh Lynn Boznango.

Gene is survived by his wife of almost 59 years, Patricia Ann Winterrowd; his brother Donald Winterrowd and wife Judy; daughter Debra Lopez and husband Frank; son Michael Winterrowd and wife Deanna; and daughter Tamara Aisenbrey and husband John. Hubert is also survived by his grandchildren Michael Winterrowd, Heather and husband Braedon Boznango; Robert Lopez and wife Shirley Yang, Jay and Megan Aisenbrey and Kyle Aisenbrey; great-grandchildren Khloe and Kolton Boznango and future Aisenbrey great-granddaughter and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins as well as a multitude of friends.
