Obituary for
Roy Wayne Poindexter
Roy was born on August 2, 1955, in Dallas, Texas, to parents, Thomas and Dorothy (Winniford) Poindexter. He passed away on February 9, 2020, in Kingwood, Texas.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly Campbell Jesurun Poindexter, of Humble; children Steven Jesurun and David Jesurun, of Humble; James Griffith Poindexter, of New Orleans; and Ariana Laine Poindexter, of Houston; sister Cindy Fancher; along with numerous other relatives and friends.
Roy graduated from Carter High School, in Dallas, Texas, where he was a standout Defensive Lineman. He went on to attend Texas Tech in Lubbock on a football scholarship. Roy was active in Boy Scouts, serving as Den Leader and Treasurer for the pack when David and Griff were in Scouting. He worked as a Ford Car Salesman, and at the end of his life, he was employed by BJ Ford in Liberty.
He was an avid animal lover and spent many hours with a dog in his lap, watching NCIS or the scifi channel in his spare time. He was a wonderful husband and father, and will be missed.
