Obituary for
Dolores Martinez Pena
“Lolo” as his family and friends called him was a big teddy bear. He had a dry sense of humor and was always there for you. If he picked on you that meant that he liked you. He loved being around his family and enjoyed going to the family farm in Nordheim, TX. He especially loved his two dogs, Duke and Jordan. Rumor has it that he loved those dogs more than he loved his own kids! He worked road construction, as a superintendent for over 35 years. He got up at 3 o’clock in the morning and got home at 6 PM every day and helped cook dinner, then spent time with the family, before doing it all over again. He loved fishing and hunting during his youth and continued throughout his adult life. He was a great fixer-upper. A Mexican MacGyver was what his daughter often called him. He enjoyed working on cars and was a somewhat packrat when it came to tools. He loved watching sports on TV and watching western movies was his favorite past time. He was a longtime member of the cemetery club in Nordheim, TX. He is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years Corina D. Pena, four children: Dolores Hernandez (deceased), Diana and spouse Joe, Ricky and spouse Jennifer and Timothy Moe, 10 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and his three siblings: Ernesto and Delphino Pena (deceased) and Adella Pena, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He leaves a great void in our lives but has left us with precious memories that we will cherish forever. God bless you and we love you daddy, brother, Ito and Tio.
