Steve Sanchez, Jr., 64, passed away Friday, January 31, 2020 at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. He was born November 20, 1955 to Helen and Steve Sanchez, Sr. in Phoenix, Arizona. His father passed away when Steve was not much more than a toddler and he was raised by his step-father, Santana Torres, when his mother remarried.

Steve spent many years with the Food Town grocery chain, beginning in the days when it was Gerland’s before becoming Food Town. He was well respected by his many associates in the grocery industry and took great pride in his responsibilities as produce manager.

Steve was a man of many interests and enjoyed bowling, cooking, fishing, golfing, watching old Westerns and reading. By far, his favorite time of the year was Christmas and time spent with family and friends.
