Condolence From: Kelley Smith
Condolence: To me, Mr. Shine, my former high school science teacher, always looked like an angel & from all I read, lived like an angel. I remember him as amply sprinkling humor among his science instruction & our investigations...he made learning enjoyable. Mr. Shine was a great mentor for me when I was a science educator. I also recall him hustling around the tennis courts with a smile on his face.
Although this is a very sad time, I know his family has a multitude of fond & funny memories that will forever live in their minds & hearts...and an angel continuing to help them.

Condolence: Mr. Shine was my GT Biology teacher freshman year at C.E. King in 1980-1981. He made learning fun and challenging at the same time. He was one of my inspirations to dedicate my life to being an educator. Thank you for a life well lived for our Lord and for students in public education.
Blessings and peace,

Condolence: We were sorry to hear about the 'homegoing' of Gene. We have fond memories of him at Parkway Baptist Church. In addition he was one of our daughter's (Melanie) favorite teachers at CE King.
My God give you comfort and hope for a future.

Condolence From: TAMMY KONECNY
Condolence: Mr. Shine was a teacher when I was going to C.E. King. Waaay back in the mid to late 70's. Although I did not have him for any of my classes, I remember him as a "ray of light" walking through the halls. He was always so kind and nice. Would help anyone in need. I know he will be missed by many. My sincerest condolences.
