Condolence From: Bill Stickney
Condolence: Worked with Dave at Detroit Diesel & MTU Detroit Diesel for probably 30 years. One of the finest men I ever had the pleasure of knowing. A great communicator. And knew our business from top to bottom. Smart, hard working, and honest. And he always knew both sides of things. And could get difficult business situations resolved with fairness to everyone involved. A wonderful gentleman who will be missed by all. I'm proud to have known him and to have been a friend.

Condolence: I met Dave through work and consider it a blessing to call him a friend. If you ever met Dave, that made you his friend. That is the first thing I always remember about him. When we first met, it was a three hour ride I accompanied him with and it was amazing how comfortable you felt talking to him. After your first visit, you felt he knew you and you knew him forever. Of course any phone call or visit after that first meeting was then always the same, having to catch up on anything new and then getting the job done. He went everywhere and visited with everyone. Dave will be missed by many, including myself. Always a friend, rest in peace.

Condolence: Dave Andrus was a friend of mine. That’s a statement I am so proud to make. He was funny and warm and wise. Dave could always see both sides of any issue. He had a way of presenting an issue so that you would understand the whole story…and he would tell you the WHOLE story. We often engaged in long, rambling conversations on the phone and that time was never wasted even though the conversations sometimes had nothing to do with the business at hand. I loved me some Dave Andrus and I will miss him dearly.

Condolence: I have had the pleasure to work with Dave in several different roles for 30 years. Dave is the kindest sole I have ever met, and he had a unique gift in that he saw the best in everyone he met, from convicted murders on death row to bad managers that he worked with, irate customers….., even me.
Dave was blessed with the gift of gab, and I do not think that he ever met a stranger. I knew that if I called Dave with a simple yes/no question, I needed to plan for 15 minutes minimum, as we would digress and talk about everything but my question. Sometimes I had to phone him back to get the answer.
Dave shared knowledge with everyone he encountered, not to show how smart he was, but to help make their life easier.
I have only met a few people that I consider to be genuinely good people, and Dave is king among them.
Linda, you have more friends than you may know, because even if Dave’s acquaintances never had the pleasure to meet you, they know you through Dave. We are all here for you and your family.
I will miss you Dave. Rest in peace my friend.

Condolence: Dave was a great person to be around and always had a great story to tell! I met Dave at my former company back in late 80’s and I was lucky to be involved in the Detroit Diesel Transit Authority competitions while he was judging and formed a relationship over the years with Dave and Linda. He was a very kind person with a huge heart and he’s one of the reasons I was hired by Detroit Diesel. He will be missed by all!! Our thoughts and prayers go to Linda and family!! God Bless!

Condolence: Dave was a kind-hearted gentleman that I had the pleasure of knowing and working with at MTU. Dave was very knowledgeable of the diesel engine business, a mentor and friend to all.
Dave gave freely of his time, always made you feel welcomed, had the best stories, a true friend, that was well respected and will be greatly missed by all.
My thoughts and prayers go out to Linda and the entire Andrus family. God Bless!
