Robert Samuel Box August 21, 1935 – December 2, 2019
A memorial service for Robert Samuel Box, 84, of Kingwood, will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, January 4, 2020, at Kingwood First Baptist Church (3500 Woodland Hills Dr, Kingwood TX, 77339). Robert passed away on December 2, 2019 at home with family by his side. He was born on August 21, 1935 in Longview, Texas to parents Branton Bain Box and Marguerite Reed Box. He worked in the oilfield industry for the majority of his life. Robert was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed bird watching and reading. Throughout his lifetime he was very active in the church serving as a deacon and in many other capacities. His deep voice made him an excellent narrator for Christmas and Easter programs. He loved children and often volunteered in the nursery. He supported the Kingwood Pops Orchestra. Robert liked playing family games, especially when he would win. Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Jimmie Box, of Kingwood, TX; sister Elaine (Richard) Luke of Mexia, TX; daughter Beth (Ken) Hebert of Cumming, GA, sons Bobby (Debbie) Box of Franklin, LA, Bayne (Carla) Box of Centerville, LA, Neil (Laura) Box of Friendswood, TX, Mark (Melissa) Bauer of Corpus Christi, TX and Tim (Michele) Bauer of Kingwood, TX; grandchildren, Michele Hebert, Lindsay (Rob) Collins, Robert (April) Box, Alayna (Devin) Pichoff, Ben Box, Dacia Box, Gillian Box, Brady Box, Noah Box, Lexi Box, Riann Bauer, Jennifer (Vince) Vincent, John (Kristan) Bauer, Victoria Bauer, Cady (Lance) Tauzin, Logan Eskine, Megan Verdun and 11 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Robert is preceded in death by first wife Jackie Lapeyrouse Box of 38 years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lottie Moon Mission Offering or to the charity of your choice. Services have been entrusted to Rosewood Funeral Home, Humble.
