Obituary for
Marion "Ann" Knight
Marion Ann Knight, or just Ann, as most people knew her, went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 5. She was 74 years old. Ann was born on February 4, 1945 to Marion James and May Bernice Wilson in Benton, Arkansas. Her family moved to Pasadena, Texas in the early 1950’s where she lived until her passing.
Ann was preceded in death by her mother, father and her brother, James William Wilson. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Sidney “Pete” Knight, Sr.; son Sidney Knight and wife Melissa; son Russell “Rusty” Knight and wife Julie; three grandchildren, Kayla, Wesley and Kyle. Also surviving are her nephew, Odie Wilson and wife April whom she considered her “kids;” great-nephew and niece whom she considered as grandchildren, Brody and Abigail Wilson along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Ann was a faithful member and servant of South Main Baptist Church for almost 30 years. She loved sewing and used her passion and talent for it to make prayer blankets for others whom were sick or in need. She loved fishing in Arkansas and looked forward to trips there each year.
Ann truly possessed the heart of a servant. She served her church, family, and community well. Above all, she loved being a mother and grandmother. She never missed a school play, football game, softball or baseball game. No matter how far she had to travel or what weather she had to endure, she was there cheering her team on and from time to time giving an umpire or official a little piece of her mind. Even in her last days, she still waited for her sons to make their nightly phone call before going to bed.
She was loved by many and will be terribly missed; but we know that because of her faith in Christ we will see her again.
John 16:22, “So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice and no one will take away your joy.”
In her honor, memorial donations may be made to the Prayer Blanket Ministry at South Main Baptist Church.
