Obituary for Lowell Dean "Butch" Lisenbee

Lowell Dean "Butch" Lisenbee was born on February 8, 1947, in Houston, TX to Vernon and Ollie Lisenbee. He died at his home in Pasadena, TX on November 29, 2019.

Butch was proud to have served in the U.S. Army, where he received a Marksman Award, after graduating from Aldine High School and marrying his wife of 51 years, Carolyn Sue. He remained in the Army Reserves a few years following his active duty.

Butch spent the last 17 years of his working years as a home appliance technician for Sears. He retired from the Sears, Roebuck & Company in 1997.

His hobbies included working with model railroads and steam engines of all kinds. He loved watching old western movies, NCIS, and listening to bluegrass music.

Butch is survived by two children, Brian Lisenbee and Amanda Lisenbee, as well as his sister Brenda McKay and her husband James; his sister-in-law Dr. Pamela Hathorn and her significant other, Dr. Jerry Bowen and brothers-in-law Mike and Ken Hathorn. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews Patrick Smith and wife Jamie, Leah Smith, Angela Hathorn, Travis Hathorn, Melissa Pleasant and husband Stephen Pleasant IV, and Martee Hathorn; and great-nieces Jaylie and Kendall and great-nephew Stephen Pleasant V.

He is preceded in death by his wife Carolyn Sue Lisenbee, his parents Vernon and Ollie Lisenbee and his father-in-law W.M. Hathorn and mother-in-law Hazel Hathorn.

Visitation will be Monday, December 2, 2019, from 5-7 PM at Rosewood Funeral Home Chapel, 3939 Pasadena Boulevard, Pasadena, TX 77503. Further details at www.rosewood.cc. Graveside services will be Tuesday, December 3, 2019, at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Wells, TX.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association in memory of Lowell Dean "Butch" Lisenbee.
