Obituary for George Wayne Robinson

George Wayne Robinson of New Caney, Texas, passed peacefully from this life after months of illness on November 8th, 2019. George was born on August 29, 1932, to Josie White Robinson and Tandy Rush Robinson (Bill) in Whitesboro, Texas. He spent his childhood in Oklahoma, living in the city with his parents and spending summers in the country with his grandparents. He was the third of three sons to Josie and Bill and was much loved by a large extended family.

George married the love of his life, Aurealia Hennigan Robinson in 1950. They spent 69 amazing years together, raising five children and welcoming 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. George and Aurealia moved to California early in their marriage, had their four sons, Tandy (Linda), Steve, Kenneth (Joyce), and Tom (Christine),and their daughter, Jeanine (Brian), before moving back to Texas in 1962 and settling in New Caney in 1970 to raise their children.

George was a hardworking man who instilled a great work ethic in his children. He worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad for 41 years. He enjoyed working on his property in New Caney, traveling in his RV with his wife and friends, and family reunions. George never met a stranger and loved to be surrounded by family and friends. He always wanted people to visit, share a meal, and stay as long as they could. Family reunions were the highlight of his year because he was surrounded by the people he loved most, night and day, sharing stories, bourbon, and lots of laughter. He had the most contagious laugh.

George was loved and respected by family and friends. He will be greatly missed.
