Lucille was incredibly kind, giving and nurturing. She adored children, loved to cook, was a great seamstress and could grow beautiful flowers. Roses were her favorite. Her compassion extended to all animals, but especially dogs. Her favorite colors were pink and yellow and watching butterflies and birds visit her yard added to her joy. She gave big hugs and expressed love to all those around her genuinely and often.
She was saved and lived a Christian life. Even when she succumbed to dementia, she still remembered her Savior Jesus Christ and the songs she used to teach in Sunday School at her church. We would sing “Jesus Loves Me” to her and sometimes she would join in and sing the words even though she mostly was unable to talk or say many words.
She was the mother everyone respected and was loved by all that knew her.
