Douglas Morgan
Douglas Wayne Morgan passed away peacefully on September 13, 2019, in Katy, Texas. Douglas was born September 4, 1946 to George and Emogene Morgan in West Palm Beach, Florida, who preceded him in death. He had an extensive career in radio and television broadcasting, most notably known as “The Voice of America” in 1972 in Washington D.C., where he met his loving wife of 35 years, Marilyn Chelnik Morgan, who also precedes him in death. Douglas had a love for gardening, reading, music, and loved having a dog at all times. He was a brilliant man and a wordsmith, thanks to his love of reading and a constant thirst for knowledge.
He leaves behind two daughters, Rebecca Louise Griffin (Eric) and Sarah Morgan Redmond (Ron), a sister, Victoria Louise Morgan (Tom), nephew, Douglas Walker Fugate (Crystal), and four grandchildren, Joshua Griffin, Carilyn Redmond, Ethan Redmond, and Matthew Griffin. He was a loving father to his daughters and Papa to his grandchildren.
