Obituary for Mary Ann Tidwell Fischer (Tidwell)

Mary Tidwell Fischer, lovingly known as Mary Ann, peacefully left this world on August 27, 2019 – with her beloved daughter, Diann Fischer Chemam, at her bedside.

Born July 26, 1934 in Shelby, Texas, Mary Ann lived a long and joyful life – filled with love, laughter and an adoring family made up of three children, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She spent 52 years as a wife and homemaker, after marrying Harms Fischer on August 11, 1951. In addition to being an avid cook, gardener and caregiver, Mary Ann was a talented artist and seamstress who loved to travel, exercise, explore – and of course, shop.

Her passions for food, fashion, music and adventure took Mary Ann and Harms all over the country during their golden years, but she was never happier or more at home than with her children and grandchildren – all of whom she doted on and loved unconditionally.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband Harms and son David. She is survived by her daughter Diann and son-in-law Sherif Chemam; her son Greg and his wife Diana; her grandchildren Leila Chemam-Alfaro, Samir Chemam, Gregory Fischer and Hunter Fischer; and her great-grandchildren Elliot Elizondo Isabella Mary Cyan Alfaro, Amelie Alfaro and Lennon Alfaro.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 31 of 2019 at Rosewood Funeral Home and Cemetery (2602 S. Houston Ave. 77338) in Humble, Texas.
