Ramona Perfecta Lucio Martinez gained her angel wings Sunday, August 18, 2019. She was born in Harligen, TX on March 16, 1939 to parents Vicente Lucio and Isabel Rhodes. She was extremely proud of her roots in the Valley and of her Spanish, German, Native American, and Mexican heritage. Above all, she was proud to be born and raised in the United States of America. Ramona married Alexander “Alex” Medrano Martinez and settled down in Houston, TX, where she raised her beloved “6 pack”. She is survived by her children, San Juanita Reyes (Alfonso), Maria Elena “Pepi” Padron (Feliciano+), Maria Guadalupe “Lupe” Martinez (Enrique), Maria Del Rosario “Rosie” Patino (Juan Luis), Alejandro “Alex” Martinez (Rosalinda), and Ramon “Raymond” Martinez. She was also survived by her siblings Juanita “Janie” Castaneda and John Lucio. Ramona was blessed with 23 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, and 11 great- great grandchildren. Her legacy will live on in every one of them. She was preceded in death by her parents Vicente Lucio and Isabel Rhodes, her siblings Vicente Lucio Jr., Guadalupe Lucio, Mary Molano, and Marylou Lopez, her husband Alexander “Alex” Medrano Martinez, and her grandchildren Stevie Martinez, and Jessica Martinez Medina, and several other loved ones whom we are certain she is dancing with in heaven eternally. May his eternal light always shine upon her.
