Jo Ann grew up in and around the Humble area attending First Baptist Church Humble, enjoying days on a small dairy farm where she milked cows and swung on potato sack swings with her siblings and cousins. She attended Aldine High School where she was a twirler and part of the marching band. She graduated from Aldine HS in 1962 and then attended Sam Houston State University where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Business and graduated in 1966. Jo Ann taught Business Communications and shorthand at Mac Arthur High School. She met and married the love of her life in 1969, Junior Trayton, and became an instant family of four with Junior’s two children, Trayton (5 yrs) and Tammy (1yr). Jo Ann and Junior had two more boys, Todd in 1971 and then Ty was born shortly thereafter in 1973.

Jo Ann had the gift of entrepreneurship selling Tupperware and building relationships. She was very successful, earning multiple trips, several cars and home furnishings. After moving back from Florida in 1978, she went back to teaching part-time in Conroe ISD. In 1993 she joined Kinder Morgan and with her servant heart quickly became the sweetheart in the small office in New Caney and throughout the Kinder Morgan family. At her time of retirement in 2014 she had reached Senior Coordinator, of Division 5 Operations.

In Jo Ann’s family, Christ has always been at the center and the most important to Jo Ann was her faith. She rededicated her life to Christ in her early 20’s and started her long-life relationship with her Lord and Savior. She truly lived out the scripture example found in Proverbs 31, being a servant to everyone she met that drew everyone to open-up to her and become life-long friends pointing them to the Lord.

We are so thankful for the time we all had with her and pray that God may hold her in the palm of His Hand.
