Life Story for Cory James Latiolais

Cory James Latiolais
CORY JAMES LATIOLAIS was called home to walk in the heavenly sands on June 06, 2019 in Pasadena, Texas. Cory was born on August 2, 1960 in Port Arthur, Texas. His parents AGEST "A.J" LATIOLAIS, JR. and BOBBIE GOTHIA HEBERT were overjoyed with a handsome baby boy. At an early age the family moved to Highlands, Texas, where he grew up and proudly graduated from Ross Sterling High School, in Baytown, Texas, Class of 1978.
CORY BEGAN AN INCREDIBLE CAREER WITH THE MUNDY COMPANIES ON MARCH 12, 1985 AS A BOILERMAKER HELPER, EXCELLING AS A BOILERMAKER AND PIPE FABRICATOR, FOREMAN, GENERAL FOREMAN AND COMPLETING HIS CAREER AS A SITE MANAGER ON JANUARY 27, 2017. HE OFTEN SAID THAT HE DIDN’T MISS THE WORK BUT, HE SURE MISSED ALL THE PEOPLE.
During his time at Mundy he met the love of his life Shelly Diane Hopper- Latiolais. Cory and Shelly formed a union on AUGUST 2, 2014. He is survived by his wonderful wife Shelly Diane Hopper Latiolais, daughter Holly Bernard and son-in-law Chad Bernard; adored grandsons Hayden, Hudson , Finn, and Rhys Bernard of Baytown, Texas; sister Honey Julee Hebert and Kathy Borowski of Kingwood, Texas; brother Todd Hebert and Paige Hebert of Atascocita, Texas; Aunt and Uncle Tom and Deborah Gothia of Santa Fe, New Mexico; Aunt and Uncle C.O. Vallet and Cindy Gothia-Vallet of Orange, Texas; Aunt and Uncle Huey Latiolais and Donna Latiolais of Bridge City, Texas; Aunt Myrtle Latiolais-Guillory of Port Neches, Texas; Aunt Diane Dore of Groves, Texas; step-daughter Genna Hopper of Winnie, Texas; and, numerous step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Cory was preceded in death by his father Agest "A.J" Latiolais, Jr.; his mother Bobbie Jean Gothia Hebert; paternal grandfather, Agest “ Pop Pop “ Latiolais Sr.; paternal grandmother Eva Latiolais "MOM MOM" Latiolais; maternal grandfather Robert "HONEY" Gothia; and maternal grandmother Rose Mary "ROSIE" Gothia.
Cory loved music, all music. He often spent all day outside on the weekend, by the pool, listening to his vast collection of tunes. He also enjoyed going to concerts, cruises and festivals. He was an enthusiastic sports fan, spending hours watching and loudly correcting the mistakes of the Texans, the Cowboys, the Astros and various kickboxers.
CORY CONTRIBUTED ANNUALLY TO VETERAN’S OF FOREIGN WARS, DISABLED VETERANS, BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA AND ST. JUDE’S. CORY’S GENEROUS NATURE WAS MOST NOTABLE TO THOSE WHO KNEW HIM. IF SOMEONE NEEDED, AND HE HAD, HE GAVE WITH NO QUESTIONS AND NO EXPECTATIONS OF RECOMPENSE.
FINALLY, BROTHERS AND SISTERS, WHATEVER IS TRUE, WHATEVER IS NOBLE, WHATEVER IS RIGHT, WHATEVER IS PURE, WHATEVER IS LOVELY, WHATEVER IS ADMIRABLE – IF ANYTHING IS EXCELLENT OR PRAISEWORTHY – THINK ABOUT SUCH THINGS. (PHILLIPPIANS 4:8)
FRIENDS AND FAMILY COMMENTS:
“I’M SO LOST FOR WORDS, IT’S UNREAL, SO SORRY FOR OUR LOSS. HE WAS ALWAYS THERE WHEN I NEEDED HIM THROUGH THE YEARS, HE WAS MY STRENGTH WHEN NO ONE ELSE STILL BELIEVED IN ME.”

“CORY WAS A GREAT PERSON AND A BETTER BOSS. I WILL TRULY MISS HIM.”
“HE SURE LOVED LOVING LIFE.”
“HE WAS ALWAYS THERE FOR ME.”
