Byron Rodenburg
Today my family and I lost our patriarch.
My grandfather was 91 years. This man was the finest example of being a man. He loved his family more than anything. He was hysterical and the best teller of tall tales I have ever known. He built his own home and for the longest time fixed his own cars. I truly cannot think of single flaw. I believe he regretted being to young to serve in WWII. He kicked cancer's butt, not once but twice. He recently told me a story of how he met my grandmother when she was basically a newborn. He told his mother, when he was only 2, that that was the most beautiful red head ever and she would be his wife. He told me as well to enjoy a good sex life while young, because when you get old you just hope to be able to have good bowel movements. Grandpa drove from Houston to Colorado for my college graduation and pinned on my lieutenant rank. He also drove to Del Rio to pin on my wings. He even flew to Okinawa Japan to be in my wedding. I love him. He was my hero.
