Obituary for
Naomi Worsham
Naomi Ruth Worsham
1934 - 2019
Our mother was born on April 30th 1934 in Little Rock, Arkansas and on April 27th 2019 just 3 days before her 85th birthday God made her an offer she couldn’t refuse as she passed peacefully into Heaven. She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years Guy Freeman Worsham. They met in Houston Texas on her 16th surprise birthday party that he was not invited too. In a short 3 months later on July 29th 1950 they were joined in marriage. Their story book, God centered marriage, has been one for the ages. Many have been inspired by how solid their commitment to each other and God has been. Both have dedicated themselves to their ministry and have served for over 65 years in many capacity at Plymouth Assembly of God Church, then Humble First Assembly and in 2017 when Mom’s battle with Alzheimer’s required special assistance they retired as Directors of OASIS at Grace Church of Humble.
Mom was preceded in her death by her Mother and Father Reverend John M. and Rosa Kent, sister and brother in law Donald and Lois Morgan, brother and sister in law Algie and Chappie Kent, brother Edward Kent. She is survived by her sister in law Carol Kent, son and daughter in love, Pat and Barbara Worsham, son and daughter in love, Ric and Gayelynn Worsham daughter Kim Worsham, 7 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and unknown numbers of those that called her Mom and Maw Maw.
The best way to describe our Mom is by saying she was beautiful, God fearing, Holy Ghost filled, prayer warrior, dressed to the nines with sophisticated outfits, professional shopper, discount seeking, amazing wife, Mom, grand mother, and great grand mother, friend and made the best banana pudding ever. She spent countless hours on the phone helping those who called and needed someone to listen to them and pray with them and each prayer was prayed with ultimate faith that God would answer.
God has answered our prayers by giving her the ultimate healing and reward of a very peaceful transition from this life to the next. Mom we will miss you and love you with all our hearts but know you have heard the words we all want to hear one day “Well done thou good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things, enter thou into the joy of the Lord.
Her celebration of life services will be held Wednesday May 1st, 2019 with visitation at 10:00 AM and service starts at 11:00 AM at Grace Church Of Humble located at 7224 N Sam Houston Pkwy E, Humble, TX. 77396 Officiated by Pastor David E. Kent.
