Ruby Maxine Sarver
Maxine was born December 26, 1936 in Humble, Texas to parents E.L. Sarver and Ruby (Jarrell) Sarver. She went to be with the Lord on April 25, 2019.
She attended Charles Bender High School in Humble, Texas and graduated near the top of her class in 1955. She was involved in her church from a very young age. As a teen, she was a member of the choir at First Baptist Church of Humble. Throughout her life, Maxine always loved and served God.
While still in school, she worked at the Jewel Theater on Main Street. After graduation, her first job was at Robbins Chevrolet on the east end of Main Street. Maxine later worked several jobs through the years, including at a drive-in and in a law office.
Her final position was as church secretary. During her many years as church secretary, she was also involved for more than twenty years with the Woman’s Missionary Union (WMU) of the Union Baptist Association. She dearly loved her work with the WMU, where she helped countless girls in their walk with God.
Maxine will be missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, as well as brothers Jack Kenneth Sarver Sr., and Wayne Sarver. She is survived by her nieces and nephews and their families.
Maxine’s nephews – Jack Sarver, Mike Sarver, Greg Sarver, Brian Sarver, and Jeff Sarver - will serve as honorary pallbearers. Her nieces – Robin Hanna, Jan Loewe, and Emily Escobedo are also honored attendees at the services.
Services will be held Saturday, May 4, 2019 in the Chapel of Rosewood Funeral Home in Humble, Texas, with Rev. Clay Bowers officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be Friday, May 3, 2019, 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM, also at Rosewood Funeral Home. She will be interred at Tetter Cemetery in Humble, Texas.
