Obituary for John Donald Walker

John Donald Walker, 72, of Humble, TX passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2019. John was born to Adam John Walker and Isabel Foy Walker Ansman, January 8, 1947 in Butler, Pennsylvania.

John graduated from Butler High School in 1964 and received a degree from Robert Morris College. He married Patricia Ann George in 1972, and they lived together in Butler and moved to Humble, TX in 1980, were they raised their family. John began his career as a bookkeeper at Gulf Oil Corporation in Pittsburgh and was later transferred to Houston. Later in his career he was a CFO in the shipping industry. He was retired from the corporate world and continued to work as a CPA at his own firm.
John volunteered with the Boys Scouts of America for over 35 years and was passionate about effecting the most positive change in people and helping shape young lives. John and Patty were active in the San Jacinto Corvette Club, were he severed as treasurer for 3 years.

John served his country as a QMC of the Army Reserves for 6 years where he was a Rifle Marksman.
The four most important things in John’s life were: Family, Friends, Corvettes and Scouting.

John is survived by his wife of 47 years, Patricia Ann Walker, two children: Christine Lynn Scarce (William), and Matthew John Walker (Allison), two grandchildren, Riley and Reese Walker, brother Robert Walker (Donna), sister Mary Ellen Linder (Tom), and numerous nieces and nephews.
John is preceded in death by his parents, Adam John Walker & Isabel Foy Walker Ansman and granddaughter, Regan Marie Walker.
A visitation will be held at Rosewood Funeral Home in Atascocita on Saturday, April 6th at 9:00am, service at 10:00am and gathering will be held immediately following.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make donations to the American Heart Association and/or American Diabetes Association in honor of John Donald Walker.
