David Earl Carl went to meet his Lord on Monday, February 11, 2019 in Willis, Texas. David was born on Sunday, April 16, 1939 in Ottumwa, Iowa. David is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law Candace and Danny McIntyre, Jr., Tracy and Randie Whisenant, a son, Justin Carl; granddaughters, Colleen McIntyre, Brittany McIntyre, Kaitlyn Metz and Savannah Carl; grandsons, Danny McIntyre III, Christopher McIntyre, Christian Whisenant, Gerrick Whisenant and Kyle Carl; great grandsons, Logan McIntyre and Connor McIntyre. He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Maxine Carl; the love of his life, Colleen Carl; son, Christopher Carl; daughter, Krista Carl; and grandsons Nicholas Metz and Justin Moak. David graduated from Ottumwa High School in 1957 and served in the United States Air Force from August 9, 1957 until May 26, 1961. He liked to travel, fish and to spend time with his family. He was a loving, hardworking family man. He was a man with a heart of gold that would help anyone in need. David may have been hard-headed but he always had a smile and loved to joke around. He will be missed tremendously by his family and friends. A funeral service will be held at Rosewood Funeral Home in Humble, Texas on February 16, 2019 at 2PM.
