Obituary for Bobby Ray Parr

Bobby Ray Parr
1934-2019
Bobby Ray Parr was born on October 27, 1934 in Gadsden, Alabama to James and Josephine Parr and was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on February 3, 2019 in Houston, Texas. Bobby was a loving husband, father, grandfather and a dear friend to so many. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict as Airman First Class and was stationed in Korea. Bobby was a Sales Engineer and Manager for 30 years in the Geophysical Instrumentation industry for Southwestern Industrial Electronics.
Bobby was a lifelong fisherman. He loved to fish with his son and grandchildren and he was very proud of the people his grandchildren had become. He had a natural way of putting people at ease with his humor, his infectious laugh and his kindness. Bobby was known by his grandchildren and family as “Paw Paw” and he was beloved and admired by us all for his wit, thoughtfully placed wisdom, charm and warmth. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Josie; sisters, Ola Mae, Orene and Evelyn; brothers, Dewey and Clinton. Bobby leaves behind a broken-hearted family to treasure a lifetime of memories. His survivors include his wife of 59 years, Mary Nell Parr; son and daughter-in-law, Allan and Annette Parr; grandchildren, David Parr, Natalie Parr and Robert Parr; granddaughter-in-law, Jennifer Parr; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Linda and James Acker; cousin, Oliver Boyle and family; nieces, Carolyn Bryden and Vicki Nave and families. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
Bobby will be dearly missed by those who love him and we will cherish the many wonderful memories we had with him for the rest of our lives.
