Obituary for
Maria Luisa Posada (Caamano)
Maria L. Posada
Born: February 4, 1932; Died: February 1, 2019
Last Friday, we have lost our Mother Maria L. Posada after a long battle with a devastating disease. However, just like in life, she hung on to life until the very end. Not only a strong woman, but an Angel in real life.
Maria (aka Chiqui), was born in a river town called El Banco, along the Magdalena River, in Colombia S.A. She was one of six siblings, three sisters and two brothers. Life in those days was though but in that river town, she learned the meaning of family unity.
She grew up and the family moved to Bogota, where she met an engineering student by the name of Manuel Posada, whom she married in 1959. Maria attended college and studied microbiology but cut her studies short to raise a family. She had three children, Manuel, Yvonne, and Maria, whom she raised in the Christian Faith. In 1970, the family moved to Spain and subsequently the United States of America. She became a naturalized citizen and loved the United States.
Like all great Mothers, she was a great confidant, adviser, home maker, and cook. However, her greatest treasures were the Lord Jesus Christ, her children, and grand-children, whom she loved deeply. Maria had a joyful heart who filled any room, when she walked in. She always wanted her hair to be in great shape and visited the hair salon often. She got to see many countries in Europe and had a great zest for life. She is survived by her three children and three grandchildren, Brendan, Gaelen, and Jenelle. She was also loved by her daughter in law Mrs. Nain Posada and son in laws Dr. Roy Bannister, and Mr. Dan Aimone.
