I do not have any bad or negative memories about my cousin Rogelio. He had the biggest smile and deepest laugh. I remember being a young teen and Rogelio taking me to the bookstore to buy a Math book. He was just the most gentle soul. Rogelio was a champion even throughout sickness. I was so saddened to hear that he left this earth. The tears just seeped out of my heart and rolled down my face. My peace is that I know that he is with the Lord. One can try to make sense of death and try to calculate all its variables, but the figures still do not add up in this finite mind. My resolve comes when I think about an infinite God, who made a sovereign decision. I know it is well with Rogelio's soul. He brought the gifts of peace, joy, love, and laughter during his years of living on this side of life. I smile as I think about the good time he is having on the other side. May God's comfort overtake my Aunty Mae, my cousin Keith, and Aunty Myrna during this time of loss. To my extended family, may we keep the memories of Rogelio forever in our hearts. Stephanie B.
