Obituary for Angelo Allen Candelari Jr.

Angelo Allen Candelari, Jr., was born in Houston, Texas on November 8, 1933. He went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 24, 2018, after losing his battle with dementia, at the age of 85.

Angelo was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Patsy (Pat) Ann Candelari, his parents, Angelo & Angelina( Angeli) Candelari and his sisters, Dolores Hlavaty & Juliet D’Arcy.

He is survived by his two loving daughters, Debra Herdejurgen (John) and Cindy Stagner (Michael). Grandchildren, Tiffany Reid & husband Mike, Michelle Ortega & husband Juan, Josh Herdejurgen & wife Ree, Beau Stagner & wife Heather. Ten great grandchildren, Bella, Lily, & Brooks Reid, Maggie, Madelynn, & Macie Herdejurgen, Jackson & Kathleen Snipes, Rhodes & Foster Stagner.

Angelo loved the Lord. He was a true Christian, who carried God in his heart and had an unceasing faith. He never missed an opportunity to witness to anyone about his salvation through Jesus Christ. Angelo prayed morning and night, and if you happen to walk in on him at any time of the day, you would find him having conversations with God.
He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Angelo adored his family and knew how to be a loving husband, father and “PawPaw”. He was fiercely protective of his family. He was also loyal to his friends, and never met a stranger.

Angelo will be lovingly remembered by his family and friends.

Special Thanks:
The family of Angelo Candelari express their sincere gratitude to Lee Gaspar-Bowles & all the care givers at Total Loving Care, especially Sandra, Queen, Ben, & Rosemary for the loving attention our Dad received while in their care during these last months. And we would also like to thank those of Living Waters Hospice: Latrell Dickie for taking such sweet care of our Dad in his last weeks, and Pastors Robert & Amy Patton, for lovingly ministering to
Angelo. We also are so grateful for the support our family received from all of them, in what was such a trying time for us.

There have been countless people, family and friends, providing support and love during this difficult time. We can’t thank you enough.
Please continue to remember us in your thoughts and prayers.

Angelo was cremated per his request and the family would like to ask that in lieu of flowers you may donate in his memory to Dementia Society of America at dementiasociety.org
