Francis Justine Birdwell, 87 years young, of Huffman, TX, passed from this world on October 23, 2018 at 2:18 a.m. She was born to the late Bennie Dewitt Dorsett and Susan (Susie) Francis Moore Dorsett on September 12, 1931 in San Angelo, Texas. The family moved to Houston when she was 5 years old, where she attended San Jacinto High School and worked for several years before she married Richard on March 6, 1954. She raised their 3 children then went to work for H&R Block as a tax agent, promoted to tax analyst and retired as a store manager. After Richard retired from the Houston Fire Department they spent as much time as possible traveling the country in their motor home. Justine is survived by the three children; Suzanne and Gary Combs, Debra and Dale Earley and Richard and Diane Birdwell, Jr.; her grandchildren, Robert Berry, Scott Berry, Nicole (Kevin) Miller, Justin Ramsey, Matt (Tiffany) Earley, Major Jeff (Veronica) Owen, Lauren (Lance) Kemph, Jillian (Nathan) Bryant, Megan ( Michael) Listi, Jyssica (Mikell) Minus; and her great grandchildren, Taylor, Mattison, Madelline, Ella, Trysten, London, Kynnerly, Logann, Cadence, Corban, Kyan, Olivia, Juliana, Eugene, Abel, Hunter, Ethan, Payton, Patrick, Willow and Waid. Justine is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Richard, and her loving brother Bennie Dewitt Dorsett, Jr. Rosewood Funeral Home will host a viewing and visitation Thursday, November 8th from 5-8 p.m. and funeral services November 9th at 9:00 a.m. Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Houston National Cemetery.
