Jacqueline Matilda Noto (Skold)
Jacqueline “Jackie” Noto, 63, of Kingwood, TX passed away on March 8, 2018 from Acute Repertory Failure. She was born on February 24, 1955 to Edward and Jacqueline Skold in Englewood, NJ Jackie is preceded in death by her father Eddie
On August 12, 1971, Jackie arranged to meet Lanny Noto for a night swim, in her next door neighbor’s pool. They had never even spoken before that evening, yet lived around the corner from each other for five years. From that moment forward, they were never apart. On January 19, 2018, they celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary.
She is also survived by her daughter Kimberly Crowson Granddaughter Kayla, and Grandson Kai also of Kingwood. Her mother Jackie from Kingwood, sister Ginny Skold, and Ginny’s partner Lauren Herman of Kingwood, Several aunts, and cousins scattered through the country. Two nieces Jessica John, and Robin Malik both from NJ.
Survived by three special people in her life, Diana Michaels, Lanny’s sister, and Jackie’s sister-in-law. They were like blood sisters. Gayle Nusbaum of Huffman, TX, who was by her side every step of the way during her chemotherapy for stage 4 lung cancer, and one of Jackie’s best friends. Lisa Bormann, one of Jackie’s best friends form NJ.
Jackie, Lanny, and Kimmie, moved to Kingwood in September 1980. From Bergenfield, NJ. Jackie worked for a daycare in Kingwood for about 18 months, and decided to run her own home daycare, after they moved in to their first house. During that time, Jackie became a vegetarian because of her deep love for animals. Lanny, also a huge lover of animals, did not become a vegetarian until July 2010. After about 12 years, she decided to get a regular job, when she felt the daycare was not as profitable as in the early years. Discussing options with Lanny, he suggested she try to get hired by Compaq Computer, a company he himself worker for five years. He was part of Compaq’s first major layoff in 1992. But suggested she try it anyway. She coincidently worked for Compaq for five years, by then becoming Hewlett-Packard, and she herself getting laid off. During her unemployment period, (Her first involuntary time off of work) the disastrous 911 world trade center attack happened. She told Lanny, ‘My nest job will be with Homeland security”. On September 8, 2002, 362 days from the initial 911 attack, she was one of the first TSA screeners hired in Houston, at Bush Intl Airport. She served almost 14 years with TSA, being promoted to a Supervisor about 2007.
She will be missed by many caring people.
