Obituary for
Jack Lyslee Jones
Jack L. Jones, of New Caney went to be with his Lord Wednesday, November 1, 2017. He was born Tuesday, October 8, 1946 in Freer, Texas to James and Thelma Jones. Jack served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1966 to 1970, serving during the Vietnam War. He worked as a Carman for Union Pacific Railroad for 34 years, retiring in 2008 to pursue more enjoyable interests and hobbies. His favorite hobby was his granddaughters. Jack never missed an opportunity to spoil them. He was always there to entertain them, attend their sporting events and share other special moments with them. Jack loved fishing and hunting and never missed an opening day leaving us this year in time to reach his heavenly hunting stand. Jack will be missed dearly by both family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, J.O. Jones. He is survived by his loving wife Polly Jones; son, Kenneth Knight and wife Sherry; daughter, Cyndi Farmer and husband Travis; granddaughters, Kami, Alyssa, Danielle and Morgan; brothers, Jerry and Larry Jones; sister-in-law, Diana Pennel and husband Brock; brother-in-law, John Smith; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and great-great nephews, other family members and friends. A funeral service will be held at 10 AM Monday, November 6, 2017 at Bethel Baptist Church in New Caney, Texas. Interment will follow at Rosewood Memorial Park, North in Porter, Texas.
