Constance Marie [Corte] O’Rourke passed away on March 18, 2017 at the age of 89. Constance “Connie” was born August 18, 1927 on Hamilton Drive in Houston, Texas, a native Houstonian. She was the daughter of Italian immigrants which have proceeded her in death, her father, Joe Corte “Giuseppe” and her mother, Mary Teresa (Serafino) Corte. She is also proceeded in death were her brothers, Julius Corte, Joe Corte, Jr., A.J. Corte “ Bubby”, Louis Corte and her nephew, Joseph Corte “Joey”. She is survived by her nephews and nieces, Warren N. Corte (Susan), Linda M. Kellogg (Jim), Mary Margaret Wilson(Lynn), Lawrence Corte (Elena), Patrick F. Corte, Michael A. Corte(Beverly), Shirley M. Corte, Mary Ann Wolkins (Michael), Anthony J. Corte (Vickie), Michael F. Corte (Linda), Angela R. Swartz (Carl), Charles W. Corte, Cathleen L. Settlemyre (Glen), Teresa E. Dinning (Steve), Josephine A. Campbell (Dennis), Christopher L. Corte (Gamze), Jeanette C. Corte, Camille E. McMillan (David), Constance C. Corte and over 60 Great and Great Great Nephews and Nieces.
She graduated from San Jacinto High School in 1946. She was a dedicated employee of Gulf Oil Company for 31 years, given many awards for her work. Connie was a devoted daughter, wife, aunt, and friend to many. She was a devout Catholic her entire life, baptized Catholic. As a child she was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and later became a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Houston, Texas.
Her family and friends were deeply valued and cherished, as shown through every conversation she had with them, always seeing the positive light, sharing her wisdom and love, and knowing them inside and out. Her legacy and memory will be that of faith, hope and love, which she lived all three every day, but the greatest gift of all was her unconditional love a gift to all of us!
