Emogene Adell Houk Travis, age 91, died on Monday, November 26, 2018, in Denton, Texas. She was born on November 6, 1927 in Horse Cave, Kentucky, the daughter of the late James Woodford and Virginia Ann (Judd) Houk. Gene grew up in Kentucky graduating from Horse Cave High School. She married James Travis on June 3, 1949 in Louisville, Kentucky. She lived in Humble, Texas nearly 20 years before moving to Grapevine, Texas where she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Grapevine. Gene was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years when he passed in 2002; son David Scott Travis; sister Irene Specht; two brothers James and William Houk; nephew Jimmy Houk. Survivors include: daughter Linda Soucie and her husband Hal; son Alan Travis and his wife Joanne; 4 grandchildren Justin and his wife Tatiana, Blake, Paul and Naomi Travis and 2 great grandchildren Luke and Weston Travis; 1 niece Carolyn Herring of Colorado; nephews Guy Houk of Branch, Arkansas, Robert Houk of Mt. Airy, Maryland;
