John Thomas Hines
John Thomas Hines passed away peacefully on November 8, 2018 in Houston, Texas. Johnny was born in Alvin, Texas on August 9, 1934 to Walter B. and Dovie Lee Simpson Hines. Johnny was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and beloved PawPaw by his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He especially liked taking them to lunch, dinner or any other special occasion that enabled him to spend time with each one of them. He wa active for many years teaching Sunday School classes at The Forum to Senior Citizens in Northwest Houston. Johnny especially enjoyed spending time with his brother, Curtis, and sisters, Kathleene and Nita. He loved taking weekend trips to Galveston, sightseeing on weekends and spending the last number of years enjoying time seeing local historical sites of interest. Johnny, a devout Christian, enjoyed collecting and listening to the sermons of Vernon Megee and other Southern Baptist Ministers. His strong beliefs sustained him throughout his walk through life. It can be said that Johnny found his one and only soulmate in life, Pat Sanderson Hines, knowing they would cross paths in the next life. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pat Sanderson Hines, granddaughter Tracie Pryor Little, his mother Dovie Lee Simpson Hines, his father Walter B. Hines, brothers Walther B. Hines and James Owen Hines, sister Ruby Lee Bonner and his great grandson Darian Carroll. He is survived by his son and daughter-inlaw John T. and Heidi
(Keefer) Hines, II, his daughter LaDona Hines, grandchildren, Jennifer Carroll, Stephanie Carroll, Holly Bretzke and husband Brandon and John T. (Trey) Hines, III and wife Shana, brother Glenn Curtis Hines and sisters Neita Jane Hines Bridgeman and Dovie Kathleene Hines McKinney. Johnny is loved by many more (many more than he knows) and will be missed. Our Father please watch over this dear man, we all love you, you will be missed.
