Obituary for Marco Antonio de la Guardia

Marco Antonio de la Guardia
Marco Antonio de la Guardia, 60, passed away on November 4, 2018 in Houston, TX. He was the husband of Imelda de la Guardia. They shared 26 magnificent years together.
Marco was born January 30, 1958, in Panama City, Panama. He was the son of Roberto Tomas de la Guardia and Isabel Arias de de la Guardia. He graduated with his high school diploma from Riverside Military Academy, received a Bachelors in Business Agriculture from Sam Houston State University, and a Masters of Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Houston Downtown. He worked as a Soccer Coach, Spanish Teacher, Bilingual Teacher, ESL Teacher, Reading Recovery Teacher, Intervention
Teacher, Summer School Coordinator, ESOL Consulting Teacher, Literacy Coach, Math Coach, and also taught Computer Literacy to the parents of the community with a total of 28 years of service as an educator and role model.
Marco enjoyed playing, watching, and coaching Soccer. He enjoyed scuba diving, snorkeling, swimming, and Disney World. He was an avid collector of Soccer memorabilia. The best Soccer moments of his life came from coaching soccer to his students. He gave his all when coaching and always encouraged the community to help the underprivileged children with soccer fields, uniforms, and cleats. He took his students to soccer games and awakened a world to them yet unknown. His devotion, dedication and hard work in the classroom and on the soccer field were unmatchable. He touched the lives of many children and youth in which he helped become successful individuals through his love of others. His tireless commitment to students, parents, and colleagues was apparent through all his selfless actions.
Marco was a man of tremendous love and kindness. His smile was contagious. Marco was a devoted and dedicated husband loving his wife beyond imagination. He adored his children and grandchildren. He was the best cheerleader and advocate for all of his loved one’s pursuits without judgment. He loved his dogs, cats, and rabbit; all of whom looked for his embrace, love, and help. His generous spirit was evident to everyone who knew him. He lived, laughed and enjoyed life to the fullest until his last day. He loved with his entire being and held nothing back.
He will always be an incomparable husband, father, uncle, educator, role model and man.
He is survived by his wife Imelda de la Guardia, children Cory de la Guardia, Jenna Garcia (and Gustin), Victoria de la Guardia, and Nicolas de la Guardia. His grandchildren Easton, Raiden, and Lincoln Garcia. His brothers Carlos de la Guardia (and Maria) and Alvaro de la Guardia (and Kathia).
