Laura Evans  Royall (McNeill)
Laura Evans McNeill Royall, 72, passed away on Thursday, June 14, 2018 with her family at her side. Laura was born in Galveston, Texas (BOI) to Dr. Joseph P. and Christine A. McNeill on January 8, 1946. She graduated from Hillcrest High School (Dallas) in 1964 and The University of Texas at Austin in 1968, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in education. Laura married Richard R. Royall on June 8, 1968 and shared fifty years of love and compassion with him. She became a mother in April 1981 with the adoption of their daughter Wendy Christine. Her family was the center of her life. Laura was a kind and gentle person with compassion for others. As a longtime resident of Humble, Texas, she was involved in school PTA, local charities, and other community activities dedicated to the betterment of others.
Laura was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Joseph P. and Christine A. McNeill; brother, Joseph “Mac” P. McNeill Jr. She is survived by her loving husband and best friend of 50 years, Richard R. Royall; daughter, Wendy Christine Royall; sister, Jane McNeill Knight and husband Frank, Linda McNeill and niece, Mary Lin McNeill. Other nieces and nephews are Stephen Steele, Brian Steele, April Person, Allyse Anderson, Robin Burson Lucado, Tom Burson, Meridy Knight Roberts, Russ Knight and numerous other relatives and a host of loving friends. A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 22, 2018 at Atascocita United Methodist Church with Pastor Deborah Proctor officiating. In lieu of usual remembrances, donations may be made to vasculitisfoundation.org or aarda.org
