Hugh Allen Myers
Hugh Allen Myers went to be with his Lord on May 8, 2018. He is preceded in death by his parents, Loren Wiley Myers and Eliza Jane Turley Myers, his sisters Nancy Gale Myers; Carol Rose Line and her husband Jack Line, Katherine Jane Jones and her husband R.D. Jones, brothers, Loren Keith Myers and Don Creig Myers.
Survived by daughter, Kristin Lynette VanHouten, granddaughter, Kaleigh Morgan VanHouten, sister in law, Ann Myers and numerous nieces and nephews.
Hugh was born on July 2, 1942, in Kay County, Ponca City, Oklahoma to loving parents, Loren Wiley Myers and Eliza Jane Turley Myers. He was raised with his five siblings in Ponca City, Oklahoma. Hugh had a metallurgical engineering degree from Northern Oklahoma College and worked at Conoco in Geophysics and Geological Exploration and then went to work with Smith Gruner in metallurgical heat treating. In 1978, Hugh moved his family to Houston, Texas and began working at Hughes Tool as a foreman in metallurgical heat treating and manufacturing drill bits. After the oil crunch, he worked at Maxim Technologies and Cummings Tool, testing metals. He finished his working years driving for Stephens Transport. Hugh was a past member of the Moose Lodge and enjoyed country dancing and competition Bar-B-Qing. He loved growing tomatoes and sharing his crop with all of his friends and working on motors. Hugh also loved fishing with his daughter and granddaughter. Hugh was a very loving father, grandfather, brother, son, uncle and friend to many.
