Stanley Mason McWhirt went to be with the Lord on April 8, 2018 at the age of 87. Stanley is preceded in death by his father Ervin S. McWhirt and his mother, Sylvia E. Mason McWhirt, brothers, Emmit & Raymond McWhirt and sister, Ruby Farris. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 68 years, Marjorie Ann Beeler McWhirt; children, Rick McWhirt and spouse, Alisa, Karen McWhirt Ediger and spouse, Lance, and Mark McWhirt; grandchildren, Kelli McWhirt Hardman and spouse, Gregg, Chris McWhirt and spouse, Haley, Kyle and Kelsey Ediger, Maxwell & Matthew McWhirt; great granddaughter, Cadence McWhirt; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.

Born in Enid Oklahoma on November 14, 1930. Stan graduated from Dewey High School in 1949 and served for four years in the U.S. Air Force. He was discharged in January of 1956. Stan Graduated from Texas Tech University with a B.S.E.E. degree in 1959. In 1965, he became a Texas Registered Professional Electrical Engineer. He was employed by Westinghouse Electric Corp. for eight years. Armco Inc. for 18 years and Champion International Corp for 12 years. He retired in January of 1996. After retiring, Stan & Marjorie traveled the world, visiting 43 Countries. Stan was an active, faithful member of Sunset United Methodist Church, where he served in leadership positions for many years. Above all else, Stan’s family and friends were the most important thing to him. He will forever be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor. Stan will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.

Visitation with the family will be held on Tuesday, April 10th, from 5:00 – 7:00pm, at Rosewood Funeral Home in Pasadena. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 11th, at 10:00am at Sunset Methodist Church.
