Obituary for
Ursel Deed Mikel
Ursel Mikel was 73 years old when he passed peacefully into the hands of or Lord on September 10, 2917.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Jimmie Mikel of Porter, Tx. Four daughter’s Vicki Mikel (Kevin) of Pearland, Tx. Tina Hubbard (Keith) of Porter, Tx. Wanda Hightower (Tim) of Colorado. Audra Tuttle of Virginia and son,Tracy Tuttle (Donna) of Porter, Tx. 10 Grandchildren, Laura, Todd (Alicia) and Shawna Hightower, Cody and Hannah Hubbard, Jacob & Jessica Tuttle, Taylor Nutt, Annette and Amelie Williams. Many nieces and nephews, family and friends. Ursel is also survived by two very dear and longtime friends, Rod (Debbie) Longoria and John Ebarb, whom he worked and had many fun times with.
He is Preceded in Death by: Ursel D. Mikel, father. Hazel Davidson, mother. Brothers, Rex, Drex, John, James Mikel and Sister, Rosie Pool.
Ursel began working at the age of 11 years. He was never still, always working. He could build or repair anything you ask, from a car engine, to a house, oil refineries, metal buildings and owned Ford Road Storage in Porter for 19 years. He has been a resident of Porter for 4 years. He served on the Board of Directors of Porter Water for 7 years and Porter MUD for 21 years. He cared very much for his community.
Ursel loved to travel and has been known to get up at a moment’s notice, pack up and go. He loved riding his motorcycle and has traveled over much of the US. He loved to fish and was an avid lover of animals. He has had a red fox, 2 raccoons, a skunk and many dogs and cats, which he cared for and loved dearly.
Ursel was loved very much and will be missed by many until the time we meet again. No more pain, now he can rest in the house of the Lord.
