Carol Lynn Williams Poe, 70, passed away July 31, 2017 in Kingwood, Texas. Carol was born October 6, 1946 in Lecompte, LA. She married Jimmie Marvin Poe in April of 1966 and enjoyed 46 years of marriage. Her hobbies included reading, Bible studies, sewing, playing with her dogs, Bingo, and spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. Carol earned her Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences degree from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1988 and worked for many years as a Probation Officer and Addiction Counselor for the State of Texas. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Jimmie and two brothers, Glenn Wilson and Paul Edgar Williams. Those remaining to miss her include her three children; Kathy Poe Zeleskey and husband Curtis of Kingwood, TX; Samuel David Poe II and wife Kimberly of Humble, TX; Charlotte Poe Bingham and husband Andrew of Crosby, TX: Grandchildren Georgia Carol Zeleskey, Britelyn Rose Zeleskey, Lilly Anne Poe, Ethan Ryan Poe, Blake Owen Poe, Sara Brady Bingham, and Cole Hoyt Bingham: Siblings David Houston Williams and wife Beverly, Suzie Williams Pugh and husband Billie, Don Richard Williams and wife Cathy: and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family will host friends for visitation on Thursday August 3, 2017 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Rosewood Funeral Home. Funeral services for Carol are scheduled for Friday August 4, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Rosewood Funeral Home in Porter, TX., Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.rosewood.cc. The family asks that in lieu of usual remembrances, donations be made to “Adams Apple Dog Rescue”. This organization is a non-profit animal rescue group located north of Houston and is dedicated to fostering dogs and finding them new homes. This type of work was dear to Carol’s heart.
