David Kevin Phillips
David Kevin Phillips age 54, of Humble, Texas passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, July 28, 2017. He was born on February 5, 1963 in Houston, Texas to Clyde and Sue Phillips. David is survived by his Wife of 28 years, Kathy Lynn (Westbrook) Phillips; Daughter and son-in-law, Brittany and Alex Bautista of Houston, Texas; Brothers and sisters-in-law, Curtis and Beverly Phillips of Pearland, Texas and Bradley and Marian Phillips of Spring, Texas; Father and mother-in-law, James and Jackie Westbrook; Sister-in-law, Anita Westbrook; also numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
David believed in living life to the fullest. He had an outgoing personality and never seemed to meet a stranger. David was an avid fisherman – whether it was from a boat on the river or while standing on the bank of a stock pond at the farm. He was also a sports enthusiast, enjoying all types of sporting events, especially football. Barbecuing, while entertaining friends and neighbors was just another of his many pastimes.
David worked as a licensed electrician for many years until his health began to fail. Despite increasing physical disability, he continued to enjoy the company of his family and friends until his death.
Rest in peace, David. You will be missed and forever loved.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 2, 2017 from 5:00 pm – 7:30 pm at Rosewood Funeral Home in Humble, Texas. There will be a graveside service on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at 10:00 am in the Latexo Cemetery in Latexo, Texas. In lieu of flowers and as an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made in David’s name to the Woodlands Church in Atascocita, or to the charity of your choice.
