Obituary for Oliver Joseph Rodriguez

Sweet Oliver Joseph Rodriguez, ”Olly,” was born on June 28th, 2017 at 6:48 PM. He lived for one hour and twenty-seven minutes and passed away peacefully in the arms of his family.
At 22 weeks’ gestation, Olly was diagnosed with Thanatophoric Skeletal Dysplasia (a fatal form of dwarfism).
Despite Olly’s diagnosis, we decided to carry him to full term and enjoy every precious moment we were blessed to have with him. Olly enjoyed all his adventures to the Houston Zoo, the Children’s Museum, East Beach and many other places. His favorite sweets were KitKats and Coco Puffs. He enjoyed listening and moving to music from 89.3 KSBJ. He loved to snuggle with his brother Steven while listening to mommy and daddy read bedtime stories. He would even kick up a storm when mommy would get after Gabby and David like he was saying “Hey mom, cut them some slack!” He always had a special way of showing us how much we meant to him. Even if it was a nice kick to the nose when his daddy would smooch mommy’s belly.
Olly is survived by his parents Juan and Amanda Rodriguez and siblings Gabby, David and Steven, Grandmothers Linda Martinez, Sara Rodriguez and Great Uncle Vicente Rodriguez, Aunts Veronica, Alice, Laura and Uncles Salvador and Ventura and his many cousins.
He is being greeted in Heaven by our precious Pumpkin Seed (angel baby 2016) Great Grandmother Rafaela Meza del Angel, Uncle Alejandro Rodriguez Meza and Grandfather Michael Olbera.
Olly brought many great people into our lives who have prayed for and supported us every step of the way. We would like to thank the labor and delivery and recovery staff of Children’s Memorial Hermann for being so kind and taking care of the entire family. We would also like to thank Renae from Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep for capturing such beautiful photos of our handsome little Olly.
There will be a Celebration of Life visitation, open to the public, held for Olly on July 21st, 2017 from 5pm to 7pm at Rosewood Funeral Home, 3939 Pasadena Blvd. Pasadena, Texas 77503.
We ask everyone attending to wear something green for Olly to celebrate his life. If you wish to bring something to honor Olly, it will be welcomed. Memorial donations may be made to Olly’s GoFundMe account: https://www.gofundme.com/pray-for-olly or
